My Hero Academia reveals a secret behind Bakugou’s costume

My Hero Academia has perfectly built the universe since its debut, and creator Kohei Horikoshi is adept at weaving in the little details. From pro-hero gossip to childhood throwbacks, the manga has it all, and there are a few secrets that fans haven’t learned yet. One recently appeared courtesy of My Hero Academia: Team-Up Mission, and it’s all about Bakugou Katsuki.

And no, we’re not talking about the secret behind his anger or anything like that. The My Hero Academia manga hid a clever secret in the hero’s costume, and the Team-Up mission emphasized a nod to associating Bakugo’s costume with the one worn by Ochaco.

As it turns out, the designer who made Bakugo’s costume is the same one who made the suit Ochaco is wearing. Their name is Nimaru Sasori, and the heroine has added her own flair to the pair’s suits. You can see them in the two spots on the Bakugou suit. You can see the dots on the “x” across Bakugo’s chest, and the dots act as buttons on Ochaco’s suit near the neckline.

As for why the two points were added, My Hero Academia turned them into Sasori’s signature. They were chosen for a simple reason, and that is because the designer’s first name literally translates to “two points” in Japanese. Their last name Sasori is associated with the designer’s oddity as it translates to “scorpion” and is also their superpower.

Each designer in the My Hero Academia manga obviously differs in how they differentiate their costumes, but Sasori’s secret is bringing Bakugou and Ochiko together. These two characters from My Hero Academia are also just one of several pairs that have matching suits. Kirishima and Sero have suits made by the same designer, and the same goes for Momo, Tsuyu, Ashido, and Mineta. Kiminari and Jiro made their suits in the same place, and finally, the same person handled Shoto’s and Deku’s suits.

If you want to see these costumes in action, Season 6 of My Hero Academia has them center stage now. Last year, My Hero Academia started right off the bat with its new season, sending Class 1-A into a war zone where Shigaraki forces have been raiding. Now, Season 6 of My Hero Academia deals with a new arc involving Dark Deku, and the hero’s friends are ready to save their friend whether he wants to help or not.
